In this opinion piece, the Tuck School’s Matthew Slaughter calls for “bold new trade agreements” during President Obama’s second term.
While “President Obama's National Export Initiative is in danger of failing,” writes Slaughter, “success can still be snatched from the jaws of defeat—but only if the president and Congress quickly and aggressively pursue freer trade and liberalize many other policies connected to the global economy.”
Slaughter is the associate dean for faculty, the Signal Companies’ Professor of Management, and faculty director of the Center for Global Business and Government at Tuck.
