The New York Times blog Dot Earth spotlights a video created by women graduate students from Dartmouth’s IGERT program. The video, entitled Science in Greenland: It’s a Girl Thing, was created by the Dartmouth scientists in response to a controversial video, Science: It’s a Girl Thing!, released earlier this year by the European Commission as part of its campaign to interest young women in science, notes the Times.
The blog’s author, Andrew Revkin, writes, “Rather than joining many online critics, the students, all female fellows in Dartmouth’s Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship in polar environmental change, created their own video while out on the alternately buggy, frigid, grubby tundra and ice sheet.”
The Dartmouth video, as well as the European Commission’s video, is included in the blog.
